Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as designers or design paraprofessionals who support professional engineers in the civil construction industry. These professionals operate with a high degree of autonomy and exercise significant judgment in planning, selecting equipment, assigning roles, and determining techniques—both for themselves and for others. A key aspect of their responsibilities includes developing site-specific work designs that align with client requirements. They demonstrate a broad skill set encompassing technical expertise, managerial oversight, coordination, and strategic planning.
The RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design prepares students for careers in civil engineering design by equipping them with the technical and leadership skills needed to plan, develop, and manage a wide range of civil construction projects
